A comic vampire novel set in Alderley Edge
Crypt-O Currency
A vampire has made a killing in crypto. HMRC would like a word. Several, in writing.
About the book
The Count has lived in Alderley Edge for longer than the footballers, and a great deal more quietly. When he was alive he was a tax collector, which explains a lot.
Now his crypto has gone up, his overdraft is measured in pints, and a grey, unblinking man from HMRC called Mr Dredge has started sending letters. Outliving your enemies is the cheapest revenge there is, but it does nothing for a capital gains bill.
With Ethel the cleaner, a nineteen-year-old who would very much like to be a vampire, and a lawyer who finds loopholes the way bats find moths. Blood money. The stakes are high.
Where it is set. Alderley Edge, Cheshire. The places are real, so you can go and stand in them. The people are made up, so please don't go looking for them.
